I am a mother of four beautiful children and a grandmother of eight, and never really had the time to take care of my skin until later in life.  By then, I thought it was too late. "Not true."  I have very sensitive skin and had suffered for years with rashes, dry itchy skin, and finally developed psoriasis. Some laundry detergents would even make my skin blister.

One day, five years ago, I bought a bar of handmade soap, just because it was so pretty and it smelled wonderful. I got a wonderful surprise. My skin didn't itch any more, and day by day the psoriasis got better and better. It isn't completely gone, but it isn't bothersome anymore. I also found that my skin became softer and smoother.  I don't look like I'm 20, but my skin looks better than it did 20 years ago.

We make our soaps the old-fashioned way, for you, the man in your life, and even "Bare Bottom soap", for all the little ones. These soaps are  made by the cold-process method, by hand, in small batches, to insure that every bar is of the finest quality. Cold process of making soap insures that all of the natural glycerine remains in the soap. Glycerine is a wonderful humectant; it draws moisture to the skin. Most commercial soap companies remove the glycerine to sell to cosmetic companies; what is left is basically detergent. Only the finest, food-grade vegetable oils and aromatherapy-grade essential oils and botanicals are used. No animal products are ever used and no animal testing is ever done. Unless otherwise noted, the base oils are a combination of cocoa butter, soybean oil, coconut oil, and shea butter. This combination creates a hard bar of soap that doesn't melt away quickly, but gives you a rich, crreamy lather. Some varieties may contain coconut milk and or milk. All of my soaps are made with real oatmeal, and steam-distilled essential oils. The swirls are made with botanicals, spices, vegetables and "yes" chocolate.

All of my soaps are superfatted. That means that 6% moisturizing fats, such as shea butter and cocoa butter are added after the saponification process. This just means that the 6% extra fat does not turn into soap, but remains the same to moisturize your skin, as if you applied a light moisturizer after showering.

Each bar is hand cut, polished, and packaged in it's own, wrapper. All of these extra steps are time consuming and laborious, but the end results are so worth it.
